Mauricio Pochettino is set to discuss a potential transfer to Tottenham with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to reports in France.
Rabiot is out of contract at the end of the season having failed to agree terms on a new deal with PSG.
The Frenchman has been heavily linked with Barcelona in recent months, but Spurs are also believed to have a long-standing interest.
And according to French outlet France Football, Tottenham are planning on making an offer to Rabiot’s representatives on Wednesday evening.
What’s more, the report claims Pochettino will personally talk to Rabiot in a bid to convince the 23-year-old to join Spurs.
Rabiot would be an absolutely ideal replacement for Mousa Dembele, who has just left for the Chinese Super League after seven years in north London.
Barcelona have just announced a deal for Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong – another player Tottenham were said to be keen on – meaning they may no longer be targeting Rabiot.
However, other English clubs will surely rival Spurs for Rabiot’s signature, and that could prevent a deal from being done in the current transfer window.
