Tottenham want to sign Leeds United starlet Jack Clarke before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to the Mirror.
Clarke made his first Championship start for Leeds earlier this month, playing a starring role in a victory over Derby County at Elland Road.
His substitute appearances before that had seen the 18-year-old be linked with a move to Spurs, and his stock has risen even more since his impressive full debut.
The Mirror claims Tottenham see Clarke as one for the future and the club is said to be keen to complete a deal for the teenager in the current transfer window.
Clarke would certainly be an upgrade on Georges-Kevin Nkdoudou, who is reportedly close to joining Turkish side Besiktas on loan for the rest of the season.
However, Clarke wouldn’t be expected to make an instant impact given his age and the return of Son Heung-min from the Asian Cup.
With Spurs having been knocked out of both domestic cups in the last few days, it’s unlikely Clarke will get much game time this season if he does join the Londoners.
