Tottenham are interested in signing Juventus winger Douglas Costa, according to reports in Italy.
Costa has struggled to rediscover this form of last season this term, scoring just one goal and providing two assists in 17 Serie A appearances.
The 28-year-old received a four-game ban earlier this season for spitting in the face of an opponent.
Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claims he is attracting the interest of a number of Premier League clubs, with Spurs the only club name-checked in the report.
It is believed Juventus could attempt to convince Tottenham to sell Christian Eriksen if the Londoners make an official approach for Costa.
Eriksen is out of contract at the end of next season and has been linked with Real Madrid in recent weeks, although Spanish reports suggest the European champions have ended their pursuit.
Costa is primarily a wide player and so wouldn’t be an ideal replacement for Eriksen. Leicester City playmaker James Maddison is a more likely target, according to reports.
It’s unlikely Spurs would be interested in Costa – he is perhaps too similar to Lucas Moura.
