Inter Milan forward Ivan Perisic is eager to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Perisic was heavily linked with Arsenal last month and a deal had been expected to go through, but the Gunners appeared to move too late in the transfer window.
Italian outlet Tuttosport – as relayed by the brilliant Sport Witness – claims Perisic wanted to join Spurs instead of Arsenal, but Tottenham didn’t make a push for the Croatian.
However, Perisic is apparently still keen on a move to Spurs in the summer and expects a deal to happen.
It is believed Tottenham could use Moussa Sissoko or Serge Aurier as part of the deal – it’s far more likely to be Aurier given Sissoko’s reputation boost in recent months.
Perisic is 30, which suggests the report might not be completely accurate; Spurs prefer to sign young players, although perhaps Mauricio Pochettino wants to add experience to his squad.
Regardless of his age, Perisic would be a very useful addition. He would add another option out wide while also providing cover and competition for Harry Kane through the middle.
