Barcelona have ended their interest in Paris Saint-Germain contract rebel and alleged Tottenham Hotspur target Adrien Rabiot, according to reports in Spain.

Rabiot is out of contract at the end of the season and has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona in recent months.

However, the Catalan giants agreed a deal to sign Ajax starlet Frenkie de Jong in January, leaving Rabiot’s future up in the air.

The Frenchman was subsequently linked with Spurs, as he has been in the past, while Liverpool are also said to hold an interest.

And now, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness) claims Barcelona have all but ended their pursuit of Rabiot.

It is believed the La Liga leaders are tired of waiting for a response from Rabiot, who they apparently offered a huge salary to not long ago.

Perhaps the 23-year-old is worried about the amount of game time he would get at Camp Nou, particularly after the arrival of De Jong.

He would certainly find it easier to break into the team at Tottenham, although he surely wouldn’t be offered a similar salary.

  1. Rabiot will be a perfect fit for Barça! If the transfer will not be done, ask Messi why! And something else: Barcelona has always bought expensive and sold cheaply!
