Juventus are considering a summer move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld, according to the Mirror.
Alderweireld recently extended his contract until the end of next season but a release clause means he can leave for £25 million before the final two weeks of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Belgian was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, but the Mirror claims the Red Devils have cooled their interest.
It is believed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for a back-up centre-back rather than a guaranteed starter.
This rings as slightly false as surely Solskjaer will be looking to add quality competition for Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof.
Regardless, it seems United are no longer as sweet on Alderweireld as they once were, which could open up the door for Juventus.
The Mirror suggests Juventus want two new centre-backs this summer and the Italian champions are mulling over a swoop for Alderweireld.
In many ways, selling Alderweireld to Juventus is the best Spurs can hope for as doing so wouldn’t strengthen a Premier League rival.
