Fulham have accepted Tottenham target Ryan Sessegnon will leave the club this summer, according to the Mirror.
The Cottagers were relegated to the Championship on Tuesday night following a 4-1 defeat at Watford.
As a result, a number of players considered good enough to remain in the Premier League are set to leave the club this summer.
Chief among those players is Sessegnon, who was heavily linked with a move to Spurs at the beginning of the season.
The Mirror claims Tottenham remain interested in the 18-year-old and could take advantage of Fulham’s relegation by swooping for him in the coming months.
Sessegnon has struggled to replicate his Championship performances in the top-flight, but it hasn’t helped that he has been playing in a losing side.
It is believed Fulham no longer value him at £50 million as he has just a year remaining on his current contract.
With that in mind, Spurs may be able to sign Sessegnon for a cut-price fee this summer.
His ability to play at left-back or further forward will surely be appealing to Mauricio Pochettino, who values versatility as a trait.
Where have we come to when the quote is about a young player and being sold for “less than 50M”?
