Christian Eriksen is moving ahead of Paul Pogba on Real Madrid’s list of summer targets, according to reports in Spain.
Eriksen is out of contract at the end of next season and has been linked with a summer exit from Tottenham, with interest said to be building among clubs in Italy.
Pogba recently talked up a future move to Madrid, leading to speculation about a possible summer switch.
But according to Spanish outlet El Confidencial (via the Mirror), Madrid president Florentino Perez would prefer the club to buy Eriksen ahead of Pogba.
It is believed Pogba could cost as much as £150 million if the La Liga giants do attempt to lure him from Old Trafford.
And despite the fact Eriksen has just a year left on his contract, Spurs will apparently attempt to collect £130 million for the Dane this summer.
If Tottenham do decide to sell Eriksen, they may have to settle for a slightly smaller fee in the end given his contract situation.
Spurs fans will be hoping Zinedine Zidane makes a push for Pogba so that there is a bigger chance of Eriksen sticking around.
I would also prefer Eriksen over Pogba for at least one reason…consistency. Also he’s not high- maintenance. Pogba keeps needing an ego massage.
