Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with the agents of Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to reports in France.
Ndombele has been linked with a number of clubs across Europe as a result of his impressive performances for Lyon this season.
The 22-year-old is expected to attract interest from a several suitors this summer, and it looks like Spurs are among the clubs aiming to sign him.
French outlet Le 10 Sport (via Tribal Football) claims Tottenham have been holding talks with Ndombele’s representatives about a possible move to north London.
It is believed Spurs have already made a contract offer to Ndombele, but there is no indication as to whether he is willing to join the club.
Mauricio Pochettino has apparently guaranteed Ndombele first-team football next season, which could tempt him to join Tottenham over the likes of Manchester City.
Qualifying for the Champions League is vital if Spurs are to lure players of Ndombele’s ilk this summer, so this is a huge week for Pochettino’s side in more ways than one.
Oh yes please, Ndombele would be the perfect player to fill the void left by the master Dembele that has not been filled effectively by any of our current midfield resources. Sissoko and Winks are superstars for us but Ndombele would make the Tottenham midfield unbreakable. We simply must qualify for the Champions League first and then pay whatever it takes to put this guy in the middle of the park with Winks and Sissoko.
