Tottenham Hotspur have agreed personal terms with the representatives of Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele, according to reports in France.
Over the weekend, we relayed reports suggesting Spurs had opened talks with Ndombele over a possible summer move.
Now, French outlet Euro United is claiming those talks have resulted in a contract agreement with the midfielder’s agents.
It is believed Mauricio Pochettino made Ndombele one of his priority signings and spoke directly to the player about bringing him to Tottenham.
Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United apparently remain interested in the 22-year-old and could make moves of their own in the coming weeks.
But Spurs are now said to be preparing an offer to Lyon which could see the Londoners finally end their long wait to make signing.
The reliability of these reports is certainly questionable, and it would be wise to wait for publications in this country to pick up on the news before getting too excited.
Tottenham are expected to sign a central midfielder this summer, but Ndombele’s other suitors may be able to make the Frenchman a better offer.
Seems we’re too slow on Ndombele and Spurs will clinch the deal while we are still asleep. Pity.
We should then try for Bruno Fernandes, Joao Felix, Isco or the ilk. That is if we can still attract top players having failed to qualify for Euro Champs league.
Surely wld b a good signingredients get the cheque book out levy and give poch the funds we desperately need
