Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Youri Tielemans expects to return to Monaco this summer after a successful loan spell at Leicester City.
However, the midfielder admits he is uncertain about his future as speculation about a permanent transfer to the Premier League continues to speculate.
Tielemans, who spent half of the season on loan at Leicester from Monaco, adapted to English football impressively quickly following his arrival at the King Power.
As a result, he has been linked with either a permanent move to Leicester or a switch to a top six Premier League team – Spurs are said to be among the clubs interested.
Speaking after Leicester’s goalless draw with Chelsea on the final day, the Belgian revealed he is uncertain whether Monaco will be willing to sell him this summer.
“I expect that I will return to Monaco in the summer, unless something’s moving,” he told VTM Nieuws (as translated by the Daily Mail).
“At the moment there’s nothing. If things are going well you want to keep it like that. I don’t know what Monaco will be asking, so I can’t talk about it.”
Tielemans joined Monaco from Anderlecht in the summer of 2017 but temporarily jumped ship midway through the current season because of the French club’s poor form.
He scored three goals and provided five assists in 13 Premier League appearances for Leicester – Tottenham could do with that kind of productivity in central midfield.
