Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with the father of Bayer Leverkusen star Julian Brandt over a possible summer transfer, according to reports in Germany.

Brandt, who has two years remaining on his current contract with Leverkusen, has scored nine goals and provided 17 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions this season.

The 23-year-old impressed against Spurs in the Champions League group stages in 2016/17, helping his side to a 1-0 win at Wembley.

German outlet Sport Bild (via Sport Witness) claims Spurs, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid have all held talks with the player’s father.

Paris Saint-Germain and Torino have also apparently spoken to Jurgen Brandt, but those clubs are said to be behind the three above when it comes to their chances of signing Julian.

An attacking midfielder who can play through the middle or on either flank, Brandt would give Tottenham another squad option and provide further versatility.

However, his next destination may depend on who can offer him regular first-team football, and getting that at Spurs could come down to whether Christian Eriksen stays or leaves.
