Bayer Leverkusen midfielder and reported Tottenham Hotspur target Julian Brandt would prefer to join Borussia Dortmund than move to the Premier League, according to Sky Sports.
Earlier this week, we relayed reports from Germany suggesting Spurs have held talks with Brandt’s father over a possible move for the attacking midfielder this summer.
It is believed Brandt is also wanted by Atletico Madrid and he has been linked with Liverpool in the past.
However, Sky Sports claims the 23-year-old is eager to stay in Germany and join Dortmund if he does decide to leave Leverkusen before the start of next season.
Brandt has scored nine goals and provided 17 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions this term.
Dortmund could still win the Bundesliga title on the final day but Bayern Munich are likely to clinch it.
Tottenham knocked Dortmund out of the Champions League in the Round of 16, winning 4-0 on aggregate on their path to the next month’s final.
Regardless of who he joins, it looks like Brandt will be playing Champions League football next season.
