Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Celta Vigo midfielder Okay Yokuslu this summer, according to Turkish Football.
Yokuslu has scored two goals in 29 La Liga appearances from defensive midfield this season and has apparently been watched by Spurs and West Ham United throughout the campaign.
The 25-year-old has four years remaining on his current deal with Celta as he only joined the club last summer from Turkish side Tabzonspor.
Celta will be looking to receive much more than the reported €8 million they signed Yokuslu for last summer, but he still should be relatively cheap in today’s market.
Yokuslu is a full Turkey international, playing 21 times for his country and scoring one goal.
Tottenham are likely to back Mauricio Pochettino in the transfer market this summer in order to make sure the Argentinian doesn’t jump ship – he has recently been linked with the newly vacant Juventus post.
Central midfield is a key area Spurs must strengthen in following Mousa Dembele’s move to China in the January transfer window.
Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama have struggled with fitness issues this season, often leaving the defensive line exposed. Perhaps Yokuslu is the man to solve that issue.
