Mauricio Pochettino has said his focus is “200%” on the Champions League final rather than speculation about his Tottenham future.
The Spurs boss has been linked with the vacant Juventus post after suggesting a five-year chapter could be closed at the end of this season.
Tottenham are set to play one of the biggest games in the club’s history in Madrid on Saturday.
And Pochettino believes his future is unimportant in the grand scheme of things as his team prepares to take on favourites Liverpool.
“Today nothing is more important than the game,” Pochettino said (via Dan Kilpatrick).
“Tottenham deserves we’re 200% focussed. We can make history, write history, provide our fans and our family the best happiness in football that you can provide. I am not important.”
Pochettino has sarcastically suggested he will “go home” after the Champions League final regardless of what happens.
But there are fears there could be a degree of sincerity in his words with Spurs seemingly at a crossroads.
The club has failed to make any signings since January 2018, and backing Pochettino in the transfer market this summer could be the key to keeping the Argentinian at the club.
But much like the man in charge, Tottenham fans will just be hoping he can lead the team to glory this weekend.
