Kieran Trippier fears he will be sold this summer after a difficult season with Tottenham, according to the Mirror.

The defender shone for England at the World Cup last summer but has failed to replicate that form for Spurs this term.

As a result, he has been left out of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the UEFA Nations League semi-finals against the Netherlands.

Just a year ago, Trippier was being picked for England ahead of former Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker, who had to settle for a place in the back three.

But Walker and Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold have finished the season strongly, leaving no place for Trippier in the Three Lions squad.

And the Mirror claims the former Burnley man feels he may need to leave Spurs in order to win his England place back.

It is believed Manchester United and Everton are tracking him after recent reports suggested Napoli have pulled out of a move for the 28-year-old.

Trippier may end up staying at Tottenham if a suitable replacement can’t be found, or if Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters leave instead.

  1. Good riddance too bad rubbish he’s the reason we stop competing for the premier League bye bye trippier dont think you’ll be missed

  2. Trippier has been shocking this season and I would say just getting rid of him this summer should be a major priority. His defending is below par his first touch often lets him down so that any pass to the right flank usually means that instead of pressing forward a ball distributed to Trippier often leads to a breakdown in play and the nett result is the ball going back to Lloris .For the old spurs bthis might have been ok but in the modern context , this is not good enough . His crossing once accurate and reliable is really poor and I’m sure a lot of Eriksons loss of form is in part related to Trippiers tribulations. My verdict both of them have had their peaks and it is time to cash in on both. Almost anything is better than those 2 at the moment. Thanks Christian we’ve had the best of you , it’s been fun but we too are ready for a fresh challenge . Kieran the best of luck but you’re not the player we need
