Inter Milan will attempt to sign Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen this summer, according to reports in Italy.

Earlier this week, Eriksen revealed he may seek a new challenge before the start of next season amid rumoured interest from Real Madrid.

Spurs have been linked with Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso, Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes and Leicester City’s James Maddison as possible replacements.

Real Madrid are about to spend a large amount of their transfer budget on Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, which could mean Eriksen will have to go elsewhere if he is to leave Tottenham.

And according to Italian outlet Gazzzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan are considering a move for the Dane in the coming weeks.

It is believed Inter will offer between £53 million and £62 million for Eriksen.

But as we suggested yesterday, the reported fee of £88.5 million Chelsea will receive for Hazard means Spurs may be able to command a similar amount of money for Eriksen.

Both players have just one year left on their contracts, and Daniel Levy will be keen to get the best deal possible.

As a result, Inter may have to cough up more than they think for Eriksen.
