Tottenham are interested in signing Everton defender Lucas Digne, according to the Mirror.
However, Everton have told Spurs they want Danny Rose in part-exchange if they are to let Digne leave.
The left-back, who joined Everton from Barcelona last summer, impressed during his debut season in England, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 34 Premier League appearances.
The Mirror claims his performances have attracted the interest of Tottenham, who are keen to strengthen at left-back this summer.
Digne has four years remaining on his current contract, so Everton are expected to command a large fee for the Frenchman if they are to sell.
The Toffees have apparently told Tottenham to cough up cash plus Rose, putting the Londoners in a difficult situation.
Rose has been linked with an exit plenty of times over the last couple of years, but he finished this season strongly.
Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of the England international, often using him ahead of Ben Davies.
But with Davies set to stay for another season, Spurs may be able to afford losing Rose, particularly if it means bringing in Digne.
i would keep Rose at all cost
A fully fit Danny Rose is the best left sided wing back in the Premiership and should be one of the 1st players on the team sheet.Has been excellent this season and at 28 is at his peak.A player around who you build a team.
Rose is overrated. He is a poor crosser of the ball, which is a surprise considering he started as a winger.
