Paris Saint-Germain are considering a move for Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris as a replacement for Gianluigi Buffon, according to the Sun.

Buffon has left the French champions after his contract with the club expired at the end of the 2018/19 season.

The Sun claims Manchester United are expecting a bid for De Gea from PSG this summer. However, it is believed PSG are looking at Lloris as a possible alternative.

De Gea and Lloris have been two of the Premier League’s most consistent goalkeepers over the last few years, but both have struggled at times this term.

In truth Lloris’ mistakes in big matches stretch back a couple of years now, including an absolute howler for France in the World Cup final last summer.

Meanwhile, De Gea’s poor form contributed towards United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.

But regardless of their recent errors, Spurs and United will be hoping to keep hold of them this summer – particularly with Mauricio Pochettino valuing his skipper’s leadership skills.

With that in mind, Tottenham will be hoping PSG push for De Gea to avoid a summer-long transfer saga involving Lloris.
