Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez is currently representing Colombia at the Copa America.
The centre-back was up against Lionel Messi and Argentina in his opening game of the tournament. He helped Colombia make a perfect start by keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory.
Because of the experience and quality of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, it’s easy to forget that Spurs possess one of the best young defenders in the world.
Sanchez lived up to that label with a composed performance against Argentina. There’s one particularly impressive moment early on when he thwarts Messi in a one-on-one situation.
