Tottenham Hotspur are growing increasingly confident of striking a deal for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to Football London.

Earlier this week, we relayed reports suggesting Spurs have been told they must increase their offer for Ndombele up to £63 million.

Football London journalist Alasdair Gold, who is usually reliable on all things Tottenham, now claims all parties are confident a deal will eventually be done.

However, Gold insists there is will some way to go despite the fact Daniel Levy has been negotiating with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas.

It’s not exactly a surprise that the transfer is taking a long time to happen, if it happens at all.

Spurs are set to smash their transfer record if they sign Ndombele, so Levy will understandably be negotiating with caution.

What’s more, the Londoners haven’t made a signing since Lucas Moura’s arrival in January 2018 – Tottenham fans are quite used to waiting.

Ndombele has also been linked with Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, so Levy may have to speed things up if he doesn’t want one of those giants to swoop.

  1. the words reliable and journalist dont normally go to well.
now false crap and journalist thats a different story…….

  2. This guy films himself in his car or standing outside the stadium. He is not, by any stretch, a “journalist”. And that’s a low bar to begin with.

    • TBF that does make him more of a journalist that most of those fleet street idiots.
He does actually put some effort into his stories, even if it’s just driving up to the stadium and doing a little tour of the ground on camera.

  3. Why on earth do you always called some know nothing chancer ‘a reliable journalist’. He knows exactly the same as you about Tottenham. He shambles around the ground and occasionally gets let into press conferences where he learns nothing. Might be worth looking to see when Gold has ever said anything about Tottenham that wasn’t already made up on some other blog.
