Tottenham Hotspur are very close to signing Jack Clarke from Leeds United, according to reliable journalist Phil Hay.

Earlier this week, we relayed reports suggesting talks between Spurs and Leeds were progressing well over an £8.5 million deal for Clarke.

And now, Hay – who writes for the Yorkshire Evening Post and is spot on when it comes to anything Leeds-related – claims Clarke is in London to undergo a medical with Tottenham.

Hay believes the fee involved is £10 million up front. There will be a sell-on clause, meaning Leeds will get a percentage if Spurs sell Clarke, and the Yorkshire club will get first refusal if Tottenham decide to send the teenager out on loan.

There has been talk of Clarke immediately returning to his boyhood club on loan for the 2019/20 season, but it appears Spurs will wait to make a decision on that.

If the 18-year-old is having a medical today, it looks like he will becoming Tottenham’s first summer signing ahead of Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, who is also reportedly close to joining Spurs.
