Tottenham Hotspur have made an offer of around £10.75 million for Fenerbahce starlet Eljif Elmas, according to reports in Turkey.

Last week, we relayed reports suggesting Spurs had lodged a bid of £17 million plus striker Vincent Janssen to sign Elmas, who has emerged as one of the most talented young players in the Super Lig.

The 19-year-old scored four goals in 29 league appearances from central midfield last season and is expected to move on this summer.

And now, Turkish outlet Star (via Sport Witness) claims Tottenham have made an initial offer of €15 million (£10.75m) for Elmas.

The fee is lower than what had originally been reported, but that always seemed steep – particularly with Janssen involved.

Spurs are reportedly finding it difficult to move Janssen on, so it would make sense to include him in a deal for a target.

But the Dutchman has one year left on his contract and Tottenham could still get a fee for him. Perhaps they intend to do that rather than use him to get Elmas.

Whether Elmas is actually a Tottenham target remains to be seen. The story hasn’t been picked up by the British press, so let’s wait and see.

Meanwhile, Spurs are said to be closing in on deals for Leeds United winger Jack Clarke and Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

  1. what about a bid for fekir –teammate of ndembele and credited with the same number of assists last year — also was on the hit list for liverpool but he failed the medical — might still be a problem but he looked a very good player at times during the year

  2. Ndombele Clarke Sessengon next then Lo Celso and Ceballos or Isco as part of Ericksen exit. Wanyama 25M Alder 25M Dier 35M Lamela 35M Ericksen 60M and and a player (Ceballos/Isco) Nkoudou 9M Janseen 9M ….with Marcus Edward’s available and on a new contract lamela can be replaced. Skipp, Onamah and Amos can cover loss of Wanyama and Dier. Hardest to replace if he goes will be Alder….CCV needs a chance or look at
