Tottenham are in advanced talks with Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to Estadio Deportivo.
The 22-year-old played a staring role for Spain as they won the Under-21 European Championships for a record fifth-time last month and Mauricio Pochettino is closing in on convincing the young midfielder to swap La Liga for the Premier League.
Ceballos made 56 appearances over two seasons for the Spanish giants, but just half of those were starts and the former Real Betis wants to play 40 games a season, something the Argentine could offer, despite the recent signing of Tanguy Ndombele for a club-record fee.
Ndombele joins Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama in a exciting-looking central midfield department, and if the Real Madrid man does make the move to England, then it could spell the end of Wanyama’s Tottenham career.
The deal would be a season-long loan, with an option to buy – and if Tottenham can get it over the line, Ceballos would become Pochettino’s third signing of the window.

If we get Dani Ceballos then ‘tis really will be a Coup
‘Tis? Wtf does that mean? Another “Tottenhamblog” employee pretending, ffs what is the point of this waste of the internet? Ads just don’t generate a living, so you must be red or royal blue
