It might be the start of a new season, but one thing very much remained the same at Hotspur Way as the bulk of Tottenham’s first-team players returned to their training base in Enfield yesterday morning.

Heung Min Son, Harry Kane, Dele Alli and co, who enjoyed an extended break after their international commitments early last month, joined the rest of their team-mates for the start of pre-season, taking part in a series of fitness tests, gym work and other strength and conditioning work on their first day back.

This sort of stuff can often be quite boring, but nothing was whipping the smile of Son’s face, who looked excited to be reunited with his team-mates.

Spurs posted a lengthy video on their Instagram account this morning and Son can be seen being his usual cheeky self, messing around with Dele Alli.

The only negative for the Premier League’s all-time top South Korean goalscorer is that he will have to wait until at least the end of August for his first Spurs appearance of 2019/2020 – Son is suspended for Tottenham’s opening two Premier League games against Aston Villa and Manchester City after his red card at Bournemouth in May.
