Kieran Trippier is set to leave Tottenham for Atletico Madrid, according to multiple reports.

The news was broken by reliable Football London journalist Alasdair Gold, who revealed Trippier will undergo a medical with Atletico ahead of a £25 million move to the Spanish capital.

Other reports suggest the fee could be closer to £20 million, but all outlets are agreed that Trippier will not join the pre-season tour of Singapore as he is preparing to sign for his new club.

Gold then relayed unconfirmed reports that Danny Rose also will not be on the plane to Singapore with his Spurs teammates.

It’s unclear whether that’s because the England international is set for an imminent transfer like Trippier or his absence is a result of another issue.

Regardless, it looks like Tottenham will be short on full-backs during pre-season with Serge Aurier recovering from injury after a difficult Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Most Spurs fans won’t be sorry to see Trippier leave after a difficult season for the right-back.

Rose’s form improved during the second half of the campaign, but the 29-year-old has been linked with an exit for some time, so it wouldn’t be a big surprise to see him depart.
