Dele Alli has revealed exactly what he said to Harry Kane after the Tottenham striker’s sensational goal against Juventus on Sunday.
With Spurs’ opening International Champions Cup encounter with the Italian giants heading for a 2-2 draw, Tottenham’s all-time Premier League top goalscorer took matters into his own hands by lobbing Wojciech Szczesny from just inside the Juventus half to earn Spurs a 3-2 victory in their opening pre-season match.
Kane is no stranger to the spectacular – cast your minds back to his stunning curling effort against Arsenal in 2016, or his piledriver against Everton the following season at White Hart Lane. But even by his standards, this was something special, despite in being just a friendly.
Alli is also no stranger to a worldie. His individual effort against Crystal Palace in his first season at Spurs was voted as the Premier League Goal of the Season for 2015/2016. But would the England man try and replicate Kane’s 45-yard effort in the future?
When asked whether he might copy Kane, Alli replied in an interview with the Daily Mail: “You never know! It was a special goal and I said to him after the game when did he see the keeper off the line because there’s been games where we talk about it and sometimes it’s not on to try, but he went for it and it went in, so it was a great strike.”
