Tottenham have identified Ajax winger David Neres as an alternative to Giovani Lo Celso and Paulo Dybala, according to reports in Italy.
The Londoners have been heavily linked with Real Betis playmaker Lo Celso in recent weeks, while Juventus forward Dybala has emerged as a surprise target in the last few days.
But Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claims Spurs are looking at an alternative just in case they are unable to wrap up deals for their two primary targets.
That alternative is said to be Neres, who played a key role as Ajax reached the Champions League semi-finals and won the Eredevisie last season. The Brazilian is reportedly a target for Everton.
Calcio Mercato believes Everton have made contact with Ajax over Neres and are willing to pay £45 million. The report suggests Tottenham could offer around £54 million in order to beat the Toffees to his signature.
Neres plays out wide while Lo Celso and Paulo Dybala operate best when they are central, so it’s a bit of a strange alternative if true. Either the report is speculative or Mauricio Pochettino is planning to use Neres through the middle.

Or maybe they are planning to use him to back up or compete with Ali.
Or maybe this is more nonsense from clickbait buffoons?
