Mauricio Pochettino has revealed the pain he went through in the aftermath of Tottenham’s Champions League final defeat to Liverpool last month.
Spurs were beaten 2-0 by their Premier League rivals in Madrid on 1st June, a result that made Pochettino not want to leave his house for the 10 days following the final.
The Tottenham boss talks about how exciting the weeks leading up to their European showdown with the Reds were and the important role that his family played in helping him get over the loss – and how even playing golf with his son was difficult after the final.
Speaking to Football.London, the Argentine said: “It was a very bad summer. It’s difficult. We had the most unbelievable time before the Champions League final. The three weeks to prepare were unbelievable but massively disappointed in the way you lose. Then you need to go home.”
