Tottenham are in action for the second time in 24 hours tonight as they take on Bayern Munich for the right to become 2019 Audi Cup winners.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men made it through courtesy of an impressive victory over Real Madrid last night, thanks to a first-half strike from Harry Kane, whilst the Bundesliga side hammered Fenerbache later that evening.

But there is no Kane or record-signing Ndombele in the starting XI tonight as the Argentine has made seven changes – giving the likes of Kyle Walker-Peters, Davinson Sanchez, Lucas Moura and Moussa Sissoko a chance to gain some useful pre-season minutes after they were all second-half substitutes against the Spanish giants.

Another one of Spurs’ substitutes in yesterdays second-half also starts against Munich – George Kevin Nkoudou – and Tottenham fans have reacted angrily to that news, suggesting that youngsters Jack Roles or striker Troy Parrott would have been a better choice.

If Pochettino is putting the French winger in the shop window, then that’s understandable, but we’re almost in 2020 and Nkoudou should no longer be starting games, not by a long shot.

Whatever happens tonight, with just one more pre-season game to come against Inter Milan at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, this should be the last time we see Nkoudou in a Spurs shirt.
