Tottenham starlet Troy Parrott could join Charlton Athletic on loan before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to the Independent.
Parrott starred for Spurs in pre-season, coming close to scoring against Juventus and generally impressing up front. The 17-year-old scored 19 goals in 23 youth appearances last term and is being tipped as a future first-teamer under Mauricio Pochettino.
Fernando Llorente left the club at the end of his contract in June, so Parrott acted as Harry Kane’s deputy during pre-season as well as partnering the England captain on occasion. However, it seems Tottenham have other plans for him in the coming months.
The Independent claims Parrott could join Championship side Charlton on loan for the 2019/20 season in order to gain experience in the lower leagues, much like Kane did before he broke into the senior side.
Charlton would be a great move for the teenager. It’s relatively local and he would play regularly if fancied by Addicks manager Lee Bowyer.
That said, Pochettino might decide to keep him if another centre-forward can’t be brought in before the deadline, a scenario that is looking increasingly likely.

No they won’t.
Why in the world would we not keep Parrot around until January to see if he can cope. Poch never play his bench for more than 10 minutes per game anyway. I am baffled after watching Parrot in the preseason any manager in the world would not think he was ready. And secondly, why would you loan him for the year without a clause to bring him back in the January window?
