Watford have made a last-ditch attempt to sign Tottenham defender Danny Rose – but their £14m bid has been rejected, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 29-year-old’s future at Spurs became in doubt after he was left out of their travelling party for their pre-season tour of the Far East last month. However, Rose was given a reprieve last week after he was then included in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad for the 2019 Audi Cup in Munich.
And then yesterday, The Sun revealed that the England left-back would remain at Tottenham and see out the final year of the five-year contract he signed back in 2021.
But at this late stage in the window, the Hornets submitted a bid thought to be around £14m, almost half the amount that Spurs value him at – and they predictably rejected it.
The signing of Ryan Sessegnon has bolstered Tottenham’s left-back department, but with Ben Davies currently out injured, Rose looks set to stay at the club.
Levy should call the bobbies and have the entire club personnel arrested for assult on his intelligence.
