AC Milan are considering a move for Tottenham defender Serge Aurier if Andrea Conti leaves the San Siro, according to reports in Italy.
Aurier missed Spurs’ pre-season campaign after suffering a hand injury. Kyle Walker-Peters started at right-back in the opening weekend victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League and is likely to be in the line-up again when Mauricio Pochettino’s side face Manchester City on Saturday.
Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claims Milan could look to take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding Aurier’s future in Pochettino’s plans by making an offer for the Ivorian before the European transfer window closes at the end of the month.
German side Werder Bremen have apparently lodged a bid for Conti, meaning Milan may be in need of a new right-back for the 2019/20 season.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Aurier seek an exit in the next couple of weeks. The Ivorian mostly played second fiddle to Kieran Trippier last season, and Pochettino appears to be happy with Walker-Peters and Juan Foyth as his right-back options this term.
We think Walker-Peters will start ahead of Aurier at the Etihad on Saturday – check out our full predicted XI here.
