Tottenham have announced Anthony Georgiou has signed a new two-year contract and joined Ipswich Town on loan until January.
Georgiou, who played at left-back for Spurs during pre-season but is usually a winger, will spend the first half of the season in League One before returning to north London after Christmas.

The 22-year-old has been on the fringes of the Tottenham squad in recent years but has failed to do enough to convince Mauricio Pochettino he is worthy of a place in the first-team group.
It wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Georgiou seek a permanent move away from the club when he returns from his loan despite the fact he has signed a new contract – it’s likely Spurs are simply ensuring they receive a decent fee when they decide to sell him.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old midfielder George Marsh has joined League Two side Leyton Orient on loan until January.

Hopes are probably slightly higher for Marsh given his age. He also featured for the first-team during pre-season but will now gain some much needed experience in the lower leagues.
