Belgian side Club Brugge are in talks with Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama, according to the BBC Sport.

The 28-year-old midfielder, who has always looked likely to depart this summer after falling down the pecking order, is on the verge of ending a three-year spell with Spurs, where he scored seven goals in 93 appearances.

Wanyama joined Tottenham from Southampton back in the summer of 2016 and started 35 league games in his first season as Spurs achieved their highest ever Premier League finish of 2nd and reached the FA Cup semi-finals.

But Wanyama started just 12 in the previous two campaigns and a host of injuries plus the excellent form of both Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko led to him losing his place in the starting XI,

He had been linked with Premier League sides AFC Bournemouth and London rivals West Ham, but Brugge look to have won the race for the Kenyan international, who will cost around £11m and sign a long-term contract.
