Giovani Lo Celso could miss several weeks of action after suffering a groin injury whilst on international duty with Argentina.
The summer signing, who is yet to make an start for Tottenham, making three substitute appearances so far, was asked about the problem after Argentina’s goalless draw against Chile on Friday, but reassured the club by admitting it was a minor issue.
However, after returning home early to London, according to the Evening Standard, Spurs now fear that Lo Celso could be out of action for a number of weeks – with the midfielder looking a certainty to miss Tottenham’s meeting with Crystal Palace when they return to Premier League action on Saturday and then their Champions League opener against Olympiacos.
It would be another major blow for Spurs, who are already without other summer signings Tanguy Ndombele, who missed the Arsenal game with a hamstring problem and Ryan Sessegnon, who is yet to feature for the club since making the deadline move from Fulham due to an ankle injury he sustained with England Under-21s.
I never understood, why so soon for these breaks on the beginnning of each season.
