Tottenham fans have been reacting angrily to Victor Wanyama’s performance against Colchester United in the Carabao Cup last night.

The Kenyan midfielder was making his first start of the campaign just three days after a shocking second-half cameo against Leicester City in which he gave away the ball for the Foxes opening goal before he was unable to get close enough to James Maddison for his long-range winner five minutes from time.

Wanyama was on the verge of leaving Spurs this summer, but his £12m move to Belgian side Club Brugge collapsed which mean he stayed, although he is now behind Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko and record-signing Tanguy Ndombele in the midfield pecking order.

Despite that, the 28-year-old was handed his first start of the campaign as one of ten changes against the League Two side.

However, even against a fourth-tier outfit, Wanyama looked out of his depth, producing a number of loose passes and gave away possession far too often.

You can see exactly what the Tottenham fans thought of his display.
