Real Madrid have re-entered talks with the agent of Tottenham star Christian Eriksen, according to the Mirror.

Eriksen was heavily linked with Madrid in the summer after admitting he may seek a new challenge but a move failed to materialise. He has since been used intermittently by Mauricio Pochettino, most recently starting on the bench in Spurs’ humiliating 7-2 home defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The Dane doesn’t appear to be any closer to signing a new contract with Spurs. His current deal expires at the end of the season, so he will be able to discuss pre-contract terms with foreign clubs in January.

But it seems his agent has already made a head-start. The Mirror claims Eriksen’s representatives will travel to Spain for talks with Madrid this weekend, which could speed up a transfer for the playmaker.

It’s unclear whether Madrid plan to sign Eriksen in January for a cut-price fee or next summer for nothing. Regardless, it is becoming more and more inevitable that the 27-year-old will not be a Tottenham for much longer.

  1. Let him go now. Don’t wait until the end of the season. If we keep him Mourinho must be wondering what did he do wrong. If he had been in OSG’S place he would have been straight down the road. Rio Ferdinand and Roy Keane are utd through and through. Woodbrain has got to make a decision. I knew when they didn’t sign Bruno Fernandes, we were in trouble
