Mauricio Pochettino has strongly suggested Moussa Sissoko will play at right-back for Tottenham against Brighton on Saturday.

Spurs face the difficult task of collecting themselves and bouncing back from Tuesday’s humiliating 7-2 defeat agains Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Brighton are yet to win at home this season, but they will look to take advantage of the current mood at Tottenham and spring a surprise.

Another problem Mauricio Pochettino faces is at right-back, where Serge Aurier is suspended after his red card against Southampton last weekend. In all honestly, the Ivorian probably would have been dropped anyway after his abysmal defensive performance in midweek.

And according to London Evening Standard journalist Dan Kilpatrick, Pochettino tipped Sissoko to fill in for Aurier at the Amex Stadium during his press conference on Friday.

Spurs have already gone through a number of right-backs this season, with injuries to Juan Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters giving Aurier a chance to reclaim his place in the side following Kieran Trippier’s exit.

Despite a couple of good moments, Aurier has just about blown that opportunity now. It will be interesting to see how Sissoko gets on if he does start in the back four.
