Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has continued his excellent goalscoring form for Belgium in their UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifier against minnows San Marino in Brussels this evening.

The Red Devils, who have all-but secured their place at next summer’s tournament, ended up 9-0 winners – with Alderweireld scoring the fifth of those six first-half goals.

Alderweireld has been short of form for Tottenham this season and hasn’t actually scored for the Lilywhites since their Champions League defeat to Monaco at Wembley Stadium back in 2016, but has now netted in consecutive games for Belgium for the first time ever after he scored a wonderful header in their 4-0 victory in Scotland in their last game.

There has been some dispute as to whether it was the Belgian’s goal or not as it took a huge deflection off San Marino defender Andrea Grandoni, but the Spurs defender looks to be claiming what would be just his fifth goal for his country in 95 appearances.

You can see his slice of fortune in the video below (5:40).
