Troy Parrott was dismissed for the first time in his professional career tonight as he saw red for two bookable offences playing for Republic of Ireland Under-21s in their UEFA European qualifier against Italy.
The 17-year-old was looking to continue his excellent goalscoring form for his country after netting three goals in their victories against Armenia and Sweden last month, but his evening was bought to a premature end after an altercation with Everton striker Moise Kean, who was also given his marching orders.
Thankfully for Parrott, his Ireland side held on to claim a crucial point against the Italian’s and remain top of Group 1, but the Tottenham striker will now serve a one-match suspension and therefore miss their next qualifier against Iceland in Reykjavík on Tuesday.
Parrott looks extremely harshly treated, as he given a second yellow card for seemingly moving Kean out of the way, who shoved him back and was handed a straight red.
