Erik Lamela’s absence from the Argentina squad has raised injury concerns after he wasn’t even on the bench for their 6-1 over Ecuador this afternoon.

The 27-year-old, who hasn’t been capped since November 2018, has made an encouraging start to the season with Tottenham and was an unused substitute for their 2-2 draw with Germany on Wednesday night.

But Lamela was them completely left out of the matchday squad for their victory in Alicante earlier today and Tottenham fans immediately thought the worst about the Argentine.

You can see some of the worries reactions below.

Elsewhere, Spurs defender Juan Foyth continued his comeback from an ankle injury by playing 77 minutes and now looks in the driving seat to start at right-back against Watford.
