Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Tottenham contract rebel Christian Eriksen on a free transfer next summer, according to the Daily Mail.
Eriksen continues to be linked with Real Madrid despite missing out on a move to the Bernabeu in the summer transfer window. The Dane has entered the final year of his contract and an exit looks inevitable, either for cut-price fee in January or for nothing at the end of the season.
Earlier this week, we relayed reports suggesting Eriksen has been in contact with Real Madrid for years, and a move to the Spanish capital was made more likely after comments made by Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus, who claimed the playmaker is not good enough for the German giants.
Bayern had also been linked with Eriksen, but it now it looks as if there could be a battle between Real Madrid and PSG. The Mail claims PSG want to freshen up their midfield, and the French champions apparently see Eriksen as an ideal target.
Both Real Madrid and PSG will be able to talk to the 27-year-old about pre-contract terms in January. Spurs might use that opportunity to contact those clubs themselves and attempt to move Eriksen on in the winter transfer window.
Wherever it may be Eriksen, just bloody well get out of here and the sooner the better.
Does not want to play for Spurs. Get shot of him. Sooner the better.
I agree that we should get rid asap. However, who do we have at the moment (injuries etc) to take his place?. Eriksen’s performances have been well below par this season -is it just coincidence as his ‘head has been turned’?
At least he ‘plays’ when selected, not like more recently Berba who kicked his toys about & refused to play for us when Utd came knocking. Have we forgotten that? – he’s now revered as an icon in some fans’ eyes.
I just want my Spurs back. COYS
