Liverpool have been handed a major injury boost with the news that Mo Salah has returned to training after recovering from the ankle injury he sustained against Leicester City prior to the international break.
The Egyptian international missed the Reds’ 1-1 Premier League draw with rivals Manchester United on Sunday with boss Jurgen Klopp telling Sky Sports that he “wasn’t ready and couldn’t train with the team.”
However, Liverpool’s official website provided a positive update on the fitness of the Egyptian international, who is back in contention for their Champions League game against Genk tomorrow, meaning he will almost certainly be fit for Tottenham’s game at Anfield on Sunday.
It’s bad news from Mauricio Pochettino, as Salah has an excellent record against his side – scoring three goals in four appearances – and played a major part in Liverpool’s stoppage-time winner when Spurs last visited Merseyside back in March.
Tottenham will be looking for their first victory at Anfield since winning 2-0 back in 2011.
