Mauricio Pochettino has said he agrees with Roy Keane’s rating of Harry Kane after the Irishman urged Manchester United to pursue the Tottenham striker.

During a discussion about United’s lack of goals after their 1-1 draw with Liverpool last weekend, Keane – on punditry duty for Sky Sports – said his former club should sign Kane as he will “score 20 goals for you with his eyes shut”.

United have scored just 10 goals in nine Premier League games so far this season while Kane continues to bang them in for club and country, though he has failed to find the net in his last two league appearances for Spurs.

Regardless, Kane’s ability makes him one of the most highly rated strikers on the planet, and as such, Pochettino thinks Keane’s comments make sense.

“I heard the comment,” said the Tottenham boss in a press conference on Friday (via Sky Sports).

“But of course I respect him a lot and admired him as a player and he is someone you want to have in front of you on the pitch. Every time I listen to him, he is very clinical in his comments and he loves the good players.

“Harry Kane is a fantastic player and we are more than agreed Kane deserves everything.”

I’m sure just about every club in Europe would take Kane if they could afford him, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would likely command a world-record fee if he ever even considered letting Kane leave.

Tottenham face Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend, while United travel to Norwich City.
