Giovani Lo Celso and Juan Foyth have both been named in the Argentina squad for their friendlies against Brazil and Uruguay next month.
Lo Celso, 23, has only recently returned from a hip problem he suffered whilst playing for La Albiceleste in a goalless draw against Chile in September and will be looking for some valuable minutes for his country after just two late cameos for Spurs in recent weeks.
As for Foyth, despite his lack of playing time for Tottenham since returning from an ankle injury, he has been Argentina’s first-choice right-back of late – starting both of their most recent friendlies earlier in October and will be hoping to continue that form.
But there is no place in Lionel Scaloni’s squad for Erik Lamela, despite his eye-catching performance for Spurs in their Champions League victory over Red Star Belgrade last month. The 27-year-old missed the defeat at Liverpool on Sunday due to a thigh injury and it remains to be seem whether that’s the reason he has missed out.
No Lamela? WTF?!
