Tottenham are reportedly preparing to make a £50m move for former Manchester United forward Memphis Depay, according to the Mirror.
The 25-year-old has reignited his career at Lyon since leaving the Premier League in January 2017 and has scored 11 goals in 14 matches this season, including four in as many games in the Champions League for the French outfit.
Depay has also enjoyed success at international level and has quickly become Ronald Koeman’s go-to man for Holland, who are on the verge of reaching their first major tournament since the 2014 World Cup, largely thanks to Depay’s six goals in qualifying.
The Dutchman has been involved in 92 goals for Lyon and Spurs keeping a close eye on him during his time in Ligue 1, but would face stiff competition from Depay’s former side Manchester United, who included a buy-back option in the deal when he left Old Trafford if they want to convince him to make a swift return to the Premier League.
