Troy Parrott has marked his Republic of Ireland debut by setting up Sean Maguire for their second in their friendly against New Zealand.
The 17-year-old, who has been in excellent form for both club and country this season, battled well before laying the ball back for the Preston North End midfielder to lash Ireland into a 2-1 advantage after they’d earlier fallen behind against the Kiwis.
You can see Parrott’s well-measured pass in the video below.

When i look at Troy i do not see a 17 year old. I see a profeeaional footballer. I saw enough in preseason for him to be with the first team. Any lad that can catch the ball on his chest from a goal kick with the defender all over him his ready . I do not need to see any more.
Absolutely spot on Paul; unfortunately the blind Pocc cannot see this and I would be very surprised if he gave Parrott a full debut.Chelsea are not only giving youth a chance, they are fully integrating them as 1st team regulars….
Why can’t we, why don’t we do it!
Beggars belief.
