Tottenham duo Juan Foyth and Giovani Lo Celso started in Argentina’s 1-0 victory over bitter rivals Brazil on Friday.
Lionel Messi scored the only goal of the game, scoring a rebound from a penalty that was initially saved by Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.
Brazil were also awarded a penalty, but Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus dragged his effort wide.
Jesus’ miss was a big relief for Foyth, who played a role in the incident after a disastrous moment.
The defender, who played at right-back once again for his country, tried to do too much on the ball in a dangerous area, losing possession before seeing a teammate’s foul lead to the spot-kick.
At least Foyth helped Argentina keep a clean sheet. Watch below.
Foyth most definitely not a full back. He’s far too slow to turn and catch a forward. He is so late in the tackle it looks clumsy. He only gets into the Spurs side at full back because he’s an Argentine. I guess
He’s a Poch favour Unlike poor old Kyle Walker Peters who just happens to be English. Typical of Poch.
