Giovani Lo Celso is open to leaving Tottenham just a few months after joining the club on loan from Real Betis, according to reports in Spain.

The playmaker arrived at Spurs on deadline day back in August, but a hip injury kept him out of the team during Mauricio Pochettino’s final weeks at the club. Lo Celso’s game time picked up before Jose Mourinho’s arrival, but the new head coach has only given him a few minutes of action so far.

As a result, Spanish outlet Marca believes Lo Celso is already considering leaving north London in order to improve his chances of staying in the Argentina national team picture. The 23-year-old has been a key player under Lionel Scaloni, but that could change if he continues to be left out of the Tottenham team by Mourinho.

Citing the British press, Marca claims Lo Celso and Mourinho do not have the best of relationships. The Argentine was seen as a Pochettino signing, and there is a chance the new regime has a different outlook.

However, the general word on Lo Celso is that Tottenham are obliged to buy him from Real Betis next summer after agreeing a mandatory fee. It is unclear whether there is a clause in the deal that could change things in that regard.

  1. Yeah, unrest from an injuried player. 4 games and the manager looking for his best lineup to win. I call the BS. What Erikssen is not the hot item anymore?

  2. Eriksen should just leave and never return to this stadium for any events, he can never be like Ardilles, Ginola, Klinsman and other legends that were at Spurs. He is pathetic, with no heart for the made him a star. COYS

  3. Utter bs why even bother writing this .I am pretty sure Jose has no idea what his best side is yet and will not make ansnap decision involving a clearly quality player this is like an Express story rather disappointing given your q Spurs page

  4. This is the usual rehashed crap from the Spanish press who want the whole world to believe that their league is superior to all others and every player in the world wants to play in Spain. It is too early for Jose to fall out with a player.
